NIGHT SOUNDS HIKE - Meet at the Wilderness Station for a fun walk through the dark woods in search of our local nighttime critters! Expect a moderate 3-mile hike through the backcountry trails of the wilderness station. We will provide headlamps, but you are welcome to bring your own!

FALL FOLIAGE HIKE & CRAFT - Come feel the cool crisp air of fall and see the changing colors of the leaves on the trees with us! Meet us on the porch of the Wilderness Station to hike down towards the river overlook to see the colors of fall. When we return, we will make a craft with leaves we find along the way for you to take home. Registration required. 1 craft per registration entry.

HUNTER'S FULL MOON NIGHT HIKE - Meet us on the porch of the Wilderness Station for a hike in the full moonlight! We’ll explore forest nightlife, listen for coyotes and other nocturnal animals, while looking for views of the full moon and other constellations from our telescope!

FAMILY CAMPFIRE - Let's gather around a campfire for s'mores and fun! We will meet at the Wilderness Station campground for a fire, snacks, a few campfire stories, cook s’mores and socialize.

FAMILY CAMPOUT - It’s still backpacking but made as family-friendly as possible. Begin with an easy 1 mile hike in to the campground. Once there, park staff will be on-hand to help you set up and settle in. Various activities will be planned throughout the night for you to choose to participate in or just relax in front of the campfire. Dinner and breakfast will be provided and are included in your registration fee. Guided Night Hikes, Children’s Activities and Games, and Campfire Fun will make this camping experience a night to remember.

ROOSTING BY THE CAMPFIRE - Join us for a night of fun in the forest! Hike with us to the campground while listening for native wildlife along the way. FIRESIDE FIREFLIES - Enjoy an old-fashioned light show of fireflies and ignite your ears with night sounds at the Barfield Campground. We will promptly begin our hike at 6:30pm. Consider bringing lawn chairs, flashlights or headlamps, and snacks. Relax by our bonfire and make it a night to remember.
